The Washington Wizards traded for Trae Young to give them experience as they exit their rebuild, and it came in clutch in the season-opening win.

Trae Young demonstrated his value for the Washington Wizards by recording 20 points, 13 assists, and only one turnover in a 128-116 season-opening victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. Young played a team-high 38 minutes and helped guide a 77-point second-half surge, while fellow newcomer Anthony Davis scored 34 points in his debut.
Tyler Watts argues that Young provided the veteran playmaking Washington has sorely lacked during its rebuild, helping validate his four-year, $212.7 million offseason extension. The Wizards also received key bench contributions from Deandre Ayton and Khris Middleton as they look to transition into playoff contenders.
