The Washington Wizards need to do a better job of protecting Trae Young on defense.

Jack Simone of Wiz of Awes argues that the Washington Wizards must better protect Trae Young defensively following a narrow loss to the Charlotte Hornets. During the game, Hornets forward Brandon Miller repeatedly attacked Young in defensive matchups, generating 15 of his total 39 points directly against the guard on efficient shooting.
Despite a fourth-quarter comeback by Washington and a strong finish from Naz Reid, Charlotte secured the victory behind Miller's offensive outburst. Simone notes that while Young remains an elite playmaker and scorer, opposing teams will actively target his defensive limitations unless the Wizards adjust their schemes.
