Atlanta quarterback Michael Penix Jr. wasn't able to finish the Falcons' 30-23 home loss in overtime to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night because of a rib injury, but he is confident the problem is not long term.
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. suffered a rib injury and could not finish Sunday night's 30-23 overtime home loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Penix was injured on a sack late in regulation, briefly returned, and then sat out overtime. Despite the setback, Penix stated postgame that he does not expect the rib injury to be a long-term issue.
Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski announced that Penix will undergo imaging on Monday to determine the extent of the damage. Penix noted that sitting on the sideline during Baltimore's seven-minute overtime scoring drive caused his pain to worsen. Tua Tagovailoa replaced Penix in overtime, throwing a game-ending interception.
