The Philadelphia Eagles traded starting center Cam Jurgens to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a second-round pick and a swap of Day 3 selections. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman explained that the team originally did not intend to move Jurgens, but Baltimore's substantial offer proved too valuable to refuse. Philadelphia also felt comfortable moving forward with second-year center Drew Kendall, who has started the past three games.
Jurgens has passed his physical but remains in concussion protocol, delaying his Ravens debut until Week 6. Baltimore made the trade to address significant attrition at center, particularly while quarterback Lamar Jackson is sidelined with an ankle injury. Jurgens is under contract through 2029.
