Buffalo Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson’s eventful start to the 2026 season added another chapter Sunday.

Buffalo Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct before halftime during Sunday's Week 6 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Following a verbal dispute with multiple Raiders players, video replay showed Gardner-Johnson spitting in the area of tight end Brock Bowers. Buffalo entered the matchup with a 4-1 record, while Las Vegas came in at 3-2.
The ejection marks the latest disciplinary issue for Gardner-Johnson, who joined Buffalo on a one-year contract worth up to $6 million. Earlier this season, the NFL issued him two separate $11,194 fines for unnecessary roughness infractions against the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams.
