Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen drew a pointed warning from former NFL receiver Steve Smith Sr. after a late interception helped seal a loss to the New England Patriots.
Former NFL wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. issued a stern warning to the Buffalo Bills regarding Josh Allen following a late-game interception in their 29-26 loss to the New England Patriots. Speaking on ESPN, Smith urged Allen to put his cape away, arguing that relying heavily on high-risk plays inevitably leads to mistakes. Smith advocated for a more balanced offensive scheme that involves running back James Cook to create explosive opportunities.
Allen took responsibility for the late interception, acknowledging that he should have thrown the ball out of bounds. Despite the Week 4 defeat dropping Buffalo to 3-1, Allen has registered six passing touchdowns and shares the NFL lead with seven rushing scores. Buffalo continues to lead the league with an average of 31.8 points per game, and Allen remains the betting favorite to win the league MVP award.
