The Story in 60 Seconds

Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales fired defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero and pass-game coordinator Jonathan Cooley following a loss to the Green Bay Packers. Canales took full responsibility for the coaching changes, stating the decision came after weeks of defensive evaluation and discussions with general manager Dan Morgan, Brandt Tilis, and owner David Tepper.

Writer Garrett Klaus argues that dismissing Evero places intense pressure on Canales, especially since the defense has endured significant injuries to Jaycee Horn, Mike Jackson Sr., and Akayleb Evans. Canales is now trusting Todd Wash to lead the defense ahead of their upcoming game against the Denver Broncos.
