The Carolina Panthers are reportedly among several NFL teams interested in signing free-agent running back Dameon Pierce. The former Houston Texans starter was recently released by the Philadelphia Eagles with an injury settlement. According to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, the Panthers have reached out to Pierce's agent alongside teams such as the Dolphins, Jaguars, Ravens, Cardinals, Titans, and 49ers.
Pierce is currently recovering from a minor hamstring injury in Houston and is expected to be ready to play within two to three weeks. In three games for Philadelphia, Pierce rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns while filling in during Saquon Barkley's absence. The Panthers are actively exploring options to strengthen their backfield depth behind starting running back Chuba Hubbard.
