The Panthers have managed a 2-2 record despite a spate of early-season injuries. Carolina entered its bye week at .500 even with the losses of Jaycee Horn, Taylor Moton, Ikem Ekwonu, Michael Jackson, Jonathon Brooks, Nic Scourton and Tershawn Wharton.
Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales announced that offensive lineman Taylor Moton and defensive lineman Tershawn Wharton are physically ready to play, though both players are still awaiting full clearance to return. Moton has missed time since training camp due to a blood clot issue, while Wharton has been sidelined following offseason neck surgery. Their potential returns come as Carolina sits at a 2-2 record during their bye week.
In Moton's absence, first-round rookie Monroe Freeling has started every game at right tackle for the Panthers. Carolina has faced significant offensive line challenges this season, currently ranking 28th in pass block win rate and 27th in run block win rate. The team also expects running back Trevor Etienne's practice window to open ahead of Week 6.
