The Chicago Bears were on their way to blowing out the Atlanta Falcons before it became close late. We offer our immediate reactions to the contest.

The Chicago Bears defeated the Atlanta Falcons 31-23 behind the return of starting quarterback Caleb Williams, who missed the previous three games. Williams completed 30 of 36 passes for 305 yards and a touchdown, while defensive back Kyler Gordon registered 3.0 sacks on Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. Despite leading comfortably, Chicago allowed a late rally after an untimely fourth-quarter fumble by Roschon Johnson.
Ryan Heckman of Bear Goggles On argues that Chicago looked energized under Williams, praising defensive coordinator Dennis Allen's aggressive blitz schemes. However, Heckman notes severe concerns regarding Chicago's discipline after the team committed 12 penalties for 133 yards, including an ejection of Jahdae Walker, and contends the offense urgently needs injured running back Kyle Monangai to return.
