After a three-game absence that felt more like six following last week’s drubbing by the Green Bay Packers, Caleb Williams returned to the starting lineup.
The Chicago Bears defeated the Atlanta Falcons 31-23 to improve to a 4-2 record, fueled by the returns of quarterback Caleb Williams and cornerback Kyler Gordon. Williams completed 30 of 36 passes for 305 yards and a touchdown, setting a Bears franchise record with an 83.3% completion rate on at least 30 attempts.
Gordon sparked the defense with three sacks and two forced fumbles on Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. Atlanta mounted a late 16-point rally, but Gordon sealed the win by forcing a fumble recovered by Devin Bush. Running backs D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson also contributed three total rushing touchdowns.
