Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai did not practice Monday, leaving his status in doubt for Thursday’s game against the New England Patriots after he missed the last two weeks with turf toe and a thumb injury.
Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai was projected as a non-participant in Monday's walk-through, leaving his availability doubtful for Thursday's game against the New England Patriots. Monangai has missed two consecutive weeks due to turf toe and a thumb injury. Head coach Ben Johnson previously characterized the running back's recovery status as week-to-week and indicated that the team does not plan to place him on injured reserve.
Monangai has produced 324 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 60 carries across four games this season. Chicago's rushing output declined to under 100 yards in each of the two contests he missed. The 4-2 Bears host the 4-2 Patriots on Thursday night before heading into an extended break ahead of their Week 8 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
