Dennis Allen’s first assessment of Jeffery Simmons offered a revealing glimpse into what the Bears believe they have added before Monday’s game.

Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen praised newly acquired defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, calling him potentially the most dominant and disruptive interior defender he has ever coached. The Bears acquired Simmons from the Tennessee Titans in a permanent trade involving two future first-round picks. General manager Ryan Poles noted that the team had pursued the All-Pro lineman for two years before completing the deal.
Allen highlighted how Simmons' disruptive presence in the middle can collapse pockets quickly, helping the secondary in coverage and freeing up teammates like Montez Sweat. Simmons arrived in Chicago on Thursday, and the coaching staff is preparing him to potentially make his team debut on Monday against Seattle.
