The NFL has fined Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams $23,882 for wearing cleats with an unauthorized logo during a Week 7 win against the New England Patriots. This penalty nearly doubles the $11,941 fine Williams received in Week 6 for wearing the same Caddix cleats, which are not approved because the brand lacks an official partnership with the league.
Williams stated that he wears the cleats to protect his joints and tendons, confirming he intends to keep using them. Caddix plans to pay the fine, and company advisor Joe Flacco offered to cover future fines as well. The NFL and Caddix have a hearing scheduled for November 10.
