The Chicago Bears will likely turn to Luke Newman as the new starter while Jonah Jackson deals with a hip injury. This is a big-time opportunity for Newman.

Chicago Bears right guard Jonah Jackson is dealing with a hip flexor injury that leaves his status uncertain for Thursday night's game against the New England Patriots. If Jackson is unable to play, second-year offensive lineman Luke Newman could earn his first career NFL start. Newman stepped in for Jackson during the third quarter of the previous game, playing 27 snaps and surrendering only one quarterback pressure.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Jackson is considered week-to-week and was limited in Tuesday's practice. Nicholas Moreano notes that Newman would benefit from playing alongside veteran center Garrett Bradbury and right tackle Darnell Wright, while veteran Jordan McFadden remains another potential option to fill in at right guard.
