Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Kingsley Suamataia was benched minutes before kickoff against the Denver Broncos by a coach's decision. Veteran lineman Mike Caliendo was named the starting left guard in his place for the matchup, according to Pete Sweeney of The Kansas City Star.
This marks the second time this season head coach Andy Reid has benched Suamataia in favor of Caliendo. Suamataia was previously benched during Week 4 against the Las Vegas Raiders, which was reportedly due to disciplinary reasons rather than performance.
