Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco was part of an early season trade last October, but don’t expect history to repeat itself this year. Although Flacco is a backup, it is “highly unlikely” the Bengals are interested in dealing him, according to…
The Cincinnati Bengals are considered highly unlikely to trade backup quarterback Joe Flacco, according to Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer. Despite recent league-wide speculation fueled by quarterback injuries—such as New York Giants starter Jaxson Dart suffering a season-ending knee injury—Flacco dismissed rumors of a potential trade to New York, confirming they are untrue.
Flacco re-signed with Cincinnati on a one-year, $6 million deal in March after making nine starts for the Bengals last season following an injury to starter Joe Burrow. Given Burrow's prior injury history and Cincinnati's pursuit of a playoff berth, the team intends to keep Flacco as an experienced backup option.
