Brian Schottenheimer Explains Late Decisions That Opened Door For Baltimore

Dallas Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer took responsibility for mistakes made in the final 28 seconds of Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Schottenheimer admitted he overcoached quarterback Dak Prescott on a critical third down near the goal line, which contributed to Dallas settling for a tying field goal rather than scoring a touchdown.

Schottenheimer noted that poor communication affected the decision to allow a touchback on the ensuing kickoff rather than kicking short. That choice allowed Baltimore to gain 27 yards and hit a game-winning 56-yard field goal as time expired.
