D.J. Wonnum is the first Lion to win Special Teams player of the Week in almost two years.

Detroit Lions edge rusher D.J. Wonnum was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after blocking a crucial fourth-quarter field goal against the Green Bay Packers. His game-saving block kept the game tied and allowed the Lions to subsequently secure a 20-17 victory as time expired.
The block marked the first by a Lions player since November 2017 and is Wonnum's first career Player of the Week honor. SideLion Report's Michael Colwander argues that Wonnum has proven to be an excellent offseason signing, noting he currently has five sacks on the season.
