The Detroit Lions announced on Saturday that they have elevated veteran safety Jalen Mills from the practice squad for their Week 4 Sunday night matchup against the Carolina Panthers. This marks the second consecutive week Mills has been called up to bolster Detroit's secondary depth.
The Lions are dealing with numerous injuries at the safety position, with Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph on the PUP list and Avonte Maddox and Thomas Harper on injured reserve. Head coach Dan Campbell noted that Branch is close to returning, while Mills provides veteran experience alongside starters Chuck Clark and Christian Izien.
