The Detroit Lions could seek a trade for Indianapolis Colts cornerback Charvarius Ward, an NFL analyst suggests.

CBS Sports analyst JP Acosta has proposed that the Detroit Lions target Indianapolis Colts cornerback Charvarius Ward via trade before the NFL deadline. Ward, who is currently in the second year of a three-year, $54 million contract, was named by Acosta as an ideal addition to improve Detroit's secondary alongside DJ Reed.
Ward has tallied 25 tackles and six passes defensed this season, though Acosta suggested former Lion Amik Robertson as an alternative trade target. Meanwhile, Detroit's secondary received an internal boost as safety Kerby Joseph recently returned to practice alongside safety Brian Branch.
