Packers’ next opponent hires Mike Pettine, former Green Bay coordinator

The Dallas Cowboys have hired former Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Mike Pettine to support their coaching staff ahead of their matchup against Green Bay. Pettine, who previously coordinated the Packers' defense from 2018 to 2020, joins a struggling Dallas unit currently allowing 27.2 points per game and an NFL-worst 120.5 opponent passer rating through five weeks.

The move reunites Pettine with first-time Cowboys defensive coordinator Christian Parker, whom Pettine originally hired into the NFL with Green Bay in 2019. Dallas enters the upcoming Sunday Night Football game against the Packers with additional preparation time following a Thursday night loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
