The NFL officially removed Packers running back Josh Jacobs from the commissioner’s exempt list on Monday, making him eligible to play for the first time this season.
The NFL has officially removed Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs from the commissioner's exempt list, clearing him to practice and potentially make his season debut in Week 7. Head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed that Jacobs will log a full week of practice, though his playing status remains to be determined. Jacobs was initially placed on the list prior to the regular season following a May domestic violence arrest in Wisconsin.
Jacobs pled no contest to two misdemeanor charges in September, but the league's investigation remains open, leaving the door open for potential future discipline. His return provides a major boost to Green Bay's rushing attack, which currently ranks last in the NFL. Meanwhile, LaFleur announced that star edge rusher Micah Parsons will not practice this week and is expected to remain sidelined until November.
