The NFL has officially removed Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs from the commissioner's exempt list, clearing him to return to practice and potentially make his season debut in Week 7. Head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed Jacobs will receive a full week of practice, though his playing status remains to be determined. Jacobs had been placed on the exempt list ahead of the regular season following a domestic violence arrest in May.
Jacobs pled no contest to two misdemeanors in September, and while no formal suspension has been levied, his time on the list effectively served as a six-game absence. The league maintains an open investigation into the matter. Jacobs returns to boost a Packers rushing attack that currently ranks last in the league, with MarShawn Lloyd, Chris Brooks, Kaleb Johnson, and Pierre Strong splitting backfield duties in his absence.
