Indianapolis Colts owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon dismissed general manager Chris Ballard following a 26-20 Week 6 loss to the Tennessee Titans, leaving assistant GM Ed Dodds in interim charge of personnel. Head coach Shane Steichen remains on a hot seat with a 27-30 record, reporting directly to ownership. Despite struggles from quarterback Daniel Jones, who signed a two-year, $88 million deal in March, Steichen confirmed he is sticking with him under center over Anthony Richardson.
Looking ahead to the November 10 trade deadline, the 2-4 Colts could consider dealing several prominent players if they choose to sell. Speculative trade candidates include impending free agent defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, running back Jonathan Taylor, cornerback Sauce Gardner, and wide receiver Alec Pierce. Moving forward, a newly hired permanent general manager in 2027 could also explore releasing or trading Jones to manage future salary cap space.
