The Denver Broncos have designated rookie running back Jonah Coleman for return from short-term injured reserve, opening his 21-day practice window. Coleman suffered an ankle injury in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and was placed on injured reserve prior to Week 3. He participated in Wednesday's practice as the team considers activating him to the 53-man active roster ahead of Sunday's Week 7 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
Coleman's potential return comes as backup Tyler Badie missed practice due to a thumb injury. Denver's rushing offense currently ranks 26th in the NFL, averaging 84.2 yards per game behind starter JK Dobbins and RJ Harvey. Before his injury, Coleman recorded 39 rushing yards and a touchdown on 10 carries against Jacksonville.
