The Kansas City Chiefs leaned on a practice squad call-up and a rookie with Tyquan Thornton on injured reserve and Rashee Rice sidelined. Here’s what stood out from their Week 6 snaps.
The Kansas City Chiefs integrated wide receivers Andrew Armstrong and Cyrus Allen into their offense during a Week 6 victory against the Los Angeles Chargers. With Tyquan Thornton placed on injured reserve and Rashee Rice sidelined by a hamstring injury, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid relied heavily on the young wideouts to provide depth.
Armstrong played 42 snaps and recorded one reception alongside strong perimeter run-blocking, while Allen caught two passes for 27 yards on nine offensive snaps. Kansas City next faces the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7, where both receivers could see continued opportunities as the team manages injuries across its receiving corps.
