Patrick Mahomes reveals Maxx Crosby paused bitter Raiders-Chiefs rivalry in offseason text

Patrick Mahomes revealed that Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby reached out with a supportive text during the offseason after both players recovered from knee surgeries. Crosby messaged Mahomes saying "Hey, we're both back" after Mahomes was cleared to return, prompting a mutual acknowledgement of respect between the AFC West division rivals ahead of their Week 4 showdown.

Both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Raiders enter the matchup at Allegiant Stadium with 3-0 records. Mahomes underwent surgery for torn ACL and LCL injuries suffered late in 2025, while Crosby repaired a torn meniscus during the same offseason.
