The NFL trade deadline is a month away but the usually-active general manager Les Snead probably can’t do much else to improve the Los Angeles Rams after an expensive offseason. It would be a stunner if the Rams were able…

Kenneth Arthur argues that Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead faces severe salary cap and draft asset constraints that make significant trade deadline acquisitions highly unlikely. According to OvertheCap.com, the Rams rank last in the NFL with just $1.058 million in available 2026 cap space, leaving little financial flexibility without costly contract restructures for veteran players.
Arthur notes that previous major trades have already depleted the franchise's future draft capital. The Rams lack several future selections, including their 2027 first-round pick traded for Myles Garrett and a 2027 third-round pick dealt for Trent McDuffie. Arthur concludes that these combined limitations mean impactful roster additions are improbable before the deadline.
