The Story in 60 Seconds

ESPN analyst Bill Barnwell proposed a trade pitch suggesting the Los Angeles Rams acquire kicker Spencer Shrader from the Indianapolis Colts for a 2027 fifth-round draft pick. The recommendation comes after the 2-4 Rams placed newly-signed kicker Blake Grupe on injured reserve with a torn ACL sustained during a kick return tackle against the Arizona Cardinals.

Los Angeles previously cut Harrison Mevis after a poor start to the season and recently signed veteran Brandon McManus as a stopgap. Barnwell highlighted that Shrader is under team control through 2027 and has completed 36 of 37 career field goals, making him a potential long-term solution for head coach Sean McVay.
