Patrick Mahomes reacted humorously to throwing an interception to Miami Dolphins rookie linebacker Jacob Rodriguez during the Kansas City Chiefs' Week 3 matchup. According to Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire, Mahomes texted him shortly after the game saying, "if I’m going to throw one, at least I’m throwing one to our guy."
The contest featured multiple Texas Tech alumni, including Mahomes, Rodriguez, and Dolphins linebacker Jordyn Brooks. Despite the turnover, Mahomes and the Chiefs secured a 24-10 victory over Miami to improve to 3-0 on the season.
