Analyst Nick Wright claims quarterback JJ McCarthy’s strong start with the New York Giants could cause serious trouble for Minnesota Vikings executives and other NFL front offices. McCarthy, acquired by New York for a fifth-round pick after being relegated to third-string in Minnesota, led three consecutive scoring drives against the New Orleans Saints and threw for 252 yards in a victory over the Houston Texans.
Wright argues that McCarthy's resurgence could become a career-altering catastrophe for Minnesota leadership while prompting rival owners without franchise quarterbacks to question why they did not trade for him. McCarthy remains under contract through the 2027 season, giving the Giants flexibility alongside injured quarterback Jaxson Dart.
