Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson sat out practice Wednesday as the team sorts through an ankle sprain that could keep him off the field Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson missed practice on Wednesday due to an ankle sprain suffered during the team's 23-16 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Head coach Kevin O'Connell noted that the injury is not long-term and confirmed imaging showed no structural damage beyond the sprain. However, Jefferson is considered day-to-day, leaving his availability uncertain for Sunday's matchup against the Miami Dolphins.
The Vikings sit at 3-0 and will not rush their star receiver back before he is fully ready. If Jefferson is unable to play, wide receiver Jordan Addison and tight end T.J. Hockenson are expected to take on expanded roles in Minnesota's offense.
