The Minnesota Vikings hosted veteran free-agent wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster for a workout on Wednesday. The move comes shortly after the franchise signed veteran wideout Odell Beckham Jr. following his recent stint with the New York Giants. Smith-Schuster, who previously played for the Steelers, Chiefs, and Patriots, is seeking an NFL roster opportunity after spending training camp with the Giants and trying out for the Jets.
Minnesota's wide receiver group is managing a hamstring injury to Jordan Addison, though he is expected to return after the Week 6 bye. While the Vikings currently have limited roster flexibility with multiple receivers across the active roster and practice squad, an injury setback could potentially open the door for Smith-Schuster to sign.
