Vrabel also discussed cursing at a sideline official, how he motivates an underdog, and what he saw from Drake Maye.

New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel responded to Buffalo Bills defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson during an appearance on WEEI's The Greg Hill Show. Following the Patriots' 29-26 victory over Buffalo, Gardner-Johnson dismissed game-winning touchdown scorer Efton Chism III as a practice squad player who would not be heard from again. In response, Vrabel quipped that Gardner-Johnson must know the drill after playing for eight teams in four years, while also strongly defending Chism's work ethic and value to the roster.
Vrabel also addressed his sideline unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for swearing at an official, acknowledging that he needs to manage his language better. Additionally, the coach praised quarterback Drake Maye's decisive performance after throwing three touchdowns in the comeback win, defended offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels' aggressive game plan, and shared insights into motivating his team as an underdog.
