Mike Vrabel responds to controversial C.J. Gardner-Johnson comments after Patriots’ win over Bills

New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel fired back at Buffalo Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson following the Patriots' 29-26 victory over Buffalo. After the game, Gardner-Johnson claimed New England struggled throughout the contest, prompting Vrabel to comment during an appearance on WEEI that Gardner-Johnson knows the drill for someone who has played on multiple teams across recent seasons.

Gardner-Johnson also minimized a key late one-handed touchdown reception by New England wide receiver Efton Chism III, labeling him merely a practice-squad player. In response, Vrabel strongly defended Chism, praising his rigorous work ethic, preparation, and impact in helping the Patriots secure the divisional win.
