The New England Patriots held a workout with free-agent veteran running back Jamaal Williams on Tuesday, though he left without a contract offer. Williams, 31, last played in the NFL during the 2024 season and spent the 2025 campaign out of football. While cornerback Al'Zillion Hamilton was signed to the practice squad following his workout the same day, Williams remains an unrestricted free agent.

Over an eight-season NFL career with the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, and New Orleans Saints, Williams has totaled 4,122 rushing yards and 40 overall touchdowns. The Patriots, who sit at 2-2 after defeating the Buffalo Bills, currently feature Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson atop their running back depth chart.
