The New Orleans Saints' run defense won't be getting any rest after an embarrassing performance last week, with the Minnesota Vikings coming to town.

Writer Molly Bauer argues that the New Orleans Saints' defense cannot afford to underestimate the Minnesota Vikings' rushing attack. New Orleans ranks 30th against the run and last in rushing touchdowns allowed per game this season. After allowing five rushing touchdowns to the Atlanta Falcons last week, defensive coordinator Brandon Staley's unit must prepare for an undefeated Vikings team relying heavily on running back Aaron Jones.
Bauer notes that Minnesota utilizes a wide-zone scheme implemented by head coach Kevin O'Connell and offensive coordinator Frank Smith, which previously troubled the Saints. While Minnesota ranks 32nd in passing offense, allowing Staley the option to load the box, Bauer asserts that New Orleans must significantly improve tackling to avoid another defeat.
