John Harbaugh reportedly called Titans ownership about Jeffery Simmons, showing Giants interest without establishing the terms.

Giants coach John Harbaugh reportedly attempted to contact Titans ownership directly before defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons was traded to Chicago. According to reporting from The Athletic relayed by NBC Sports, the outreach occurred after Giants general manager Joe Schoen had already communicated with Tennessee's general manager regarding a potential trade deal.
Simmons was ultimately dealt to Chicago alongside a 2028 fifth-round pick for first-round picks in 2027 and 2028 and a 2027 fourth-round selection. Alexander Wilson of Empire Sports Media argues Harbaugh's intervention signals urgency following the previous departure of Dexter Lawrence, though New York's specific proposed trade terms remain undisclosed.
