Jaxson Dart hopes to return if the Giants reach the playoffs, but Joe Schoen says the quarterback is not yet weight-bearing.

Injured New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart is targeting a potential return if the team reaches the playoffs, general manager Joe Schoen revealed on Tuesday. However, Schoen clarified that this goal reflects Dart's personal mindset rather than any official medical clearance. Dart remains on crutches, cannot bear weight yet, and is currently limited to attending team meetings following an injury sustained against the Rams in September.
Writer Alexander Wilson argues that the Giants must treat Dart's playoff goal as optimism rather than a realistic timetable. New York has moved forward with newly acquired quarterback J.J. McCarthy alongside backup Jameis Winston. Wilson notes that the coaching staff should focus on available options rather than planning around an uncertain January comeback.
