The Arizona Cardinals' Trey Benson sends a bat signal to the New York Giants, who reportedly could be in the market for running back help.

Writer Lior Lampert argues that the New York Giants should consider targeting Arizona Cardinals running back Trey Benson as they look for backfield depth. Benson is currently on injured reserve following a meniscus setback after going unclaimed on waivers in August. With Arizona investing heavily in rookie Jeremiyah Love and Tyler Allgeier, Lampert suggests Benson could become an attainable option via an injury settlement or free agency.
While SNY's Connor Hughes reported the Giants will likely explore adding a running back before the trade deadline, head coach John Harbaugh downplayed the immediate need after releasing Najee Harris, noting the difficulty of carrying four backs. However, Lampert notes the Giants previously explored adding backfield talent to pair with Cam Skattebo.
