According to Fox Sports reporter Ralph Vacchiano, the New York Giants are interested in Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Vita Vea and could potentially offer a first-round draft pick. The Giants have reportedly been pursuing elite talent at defensive tackle, having previously targeted Jeffery Simmons before his move to the Chicago Bears and checking on Washington's Daron Payne.

Vea signed a one-year, $30 million extension through 2027 following a training camp holdout, which includes a $23 million guaranteed base salary. Despite the Giants' interest, Vacchiano reports that a trade remains unlikely after Tampa Bay won three consecutive games to stay competitive in the NFC South.
