The New York Giants are urged to consider trading for a "stout" and available defensive tackle after missing out on DeForest Buckner.

The New York Giants have been urged to target Indianapolis Colts nose tackle Grover Stewart following DeForest Buckner's trade to the San Francisco 49ers. The Athletic's Dan Duggan suggested Stewart as a realistic trade candidate for New York after the team missed out on acquiring Buckner due to lacking a 2027 fourth-round pick.
James Dudko argues that Stewart would address the Giants' ongoing run-defense struggles following the offseason trade of Dexter Lawrence II to the Cincinnati Bengals. The 33-year-old veteran could pair inside with free-agent addition D.J. Reader to reinforce a defensive front allowing 4.8 yards per carry.
