Isaiah Likely’s 41 catches give the Giants a matchup to exploit

Alexander Wilson writes that the New York Giants have found an advantageous offensive matchup to exploit in tight end Isaiah Likely. Likely has recorded 41 catches through his first seven games with the team, placing him just one reception shy of his previous career high set with Baltimore. He became one of only three tight ends to record at least 40 receptions across their first seven games with a franchise.

Wilson argues the Giants should keep moving Likely around the formation and employ two-tight-end looks to challenge opposing coverages. Alongside wide receiver Malik Nabers, Likely provides an essential middle-field option for quarterback J.J. McCarthy, who recently completed five passes of at least 20 yards against Houston. Wilson notes this balance will be critical ahead of upcoming matchups against Philadelphia and Washington.
