Former NFL star Michael Strahan revealed that his daughter Isabella's self-advocacy helped save her life during treatment for medulloblastoma. While recovering, Isabella alerted her family that something felt wrong, leading doctors to discover an infection on the titanium mesh in her skull that required another surgical procedure. Strahan praised her quick action during an appearance on Get Real with Jim Weiss, emphasizing the importance of speaking up.
Isabella was initially diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor in October 2023 during her freshman year at USC. After undergoing multiple surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy, she announced she was cancer-free in July 2024. A follow-up MRI scan confirmed no new tumor growth, allowing her to resume her studies and share her recovery journey with other patients.
