The move to Joe Milton isn't some declaration the Eagles are tanking, it's a desperation attempt to be slightly better.
Geoff Mosher argues that the Philadelphia Eagles' decision to bench quarterback Tanner McKee for Joe Milton represents a desperate move by a struggling team. Reports emerged on Wednesday that head coach Nick Sirianni will turn to Milton against the New York Giants, despite publicly backing McKee earlier in the week. Philadelphia previously signed Milton off the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad after primary starter Jalen Hurts was placed on injured reserve.
Mosher contends the switch is an attempt to spark a dormant offense and evaluate young players rather than an intentional effort to tank. While Milton provides supreme athleticism and running capability, Mosher emphasizes that the developmental quarterback will not fix Philadelphia's deeper offensive issues.
