The Eagles are going into Sunday night's game with just three RBs. One of them is a banged-up Saquon Barkley. What could go wrong?
Geoff Mosher questions the Philadelphia Eagles' approach to their running back depth ahead of Sunday night's matchup against the Washington Commanders. The team will enter the game with only three active running backs: an injured Saquon Barkley, Elijah Mitchell, and Jaydon Blue. Barkley is playing through hamstring and back issues after missing most of the practice week, though he carries no official injury status designation.
With Tank Bigsby, Will Shipley, Carson Steele, and Dameon Pierce on injured reserve, Mosher notes the Eagles did not work out or sign outside running backs. Instead, Philadelphia elevated Mitchell from the practice squad and signed Blue to the active roster, which Mosher views as a major gamble.
