Why Jordan Mailata means so much to Eagles young OL

Jordan Mailata has emerged as the unquestioned veteran leader and anchor for a depleted, reshuffled Philadelphia Eagles offensive line. Following Lane Johnson's abrupt retirement, Cam Jurgens' trade to the Baltimore Ravens, and Landon Dickerson's placement on injured reserve, Mailata stood as the lone remaining Week 1 starter during Philadelphia's recent last-second loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.

Young offensive linemen including Jake Majors, Markel Bell, and Willie Lampkin praised Mailata's steady leadership and energy as the team manages a three-game losing streak and an injury to quarterback Jalen Hurts. Head coach Nick Sirianni highlighted Mailata's consistency and captaincy in guiding inexperienced teammates through sudden adversity.
