Alan Saunders writes that the Pittsburgh Steelers have successfully established an offensive identity following a 34-22 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. The performance was driven by running back Jaylen Warren and tight end Pat Freiermuth, who each scored two touchdowns. Saunders credits head coach Mike McCarthy for tailoring his scheme to quarterback Aaron Rodgers' current strengths and utilizing physical playmakers like DK Metcalf as downfield blockers.
Looking ahead, Saunders argues that McCarthy must not disrupt this offensive momentum by enforcing a planned backfield committee once Rico Dowdle returns from injury. While McCarthy noted that a one-two punch remains his original vision, Saunders asserts that Warren has proven himself as a premier workhorse running back who should retain the primary workload.
