The Pittsburgh Steelers traded cornerback Joey Porter Jr. to the Dallas Cowboys following a prolonged contract dispute. In return, Pittsburgh received a 2028 second-round draft pick and a conditional 2027 sixth-round draft pick ahead of their Week 4 contest against the Cleveland Browns.
Writer Ryland Bickley notes that the deal leaves Pittsburgh thin in the secondary without an agreed contract extension in place for Porter in Dallas. While Steelers fans feel the return was insufficient, reporting cited from The Athletic indicates that multiple NFL executives believe the Cowboys actually overpaid for the cornerback.
